Remodelers Council of Lincoln Receives Lincoln's 2010 BBB Integrity Award
BBB Integrity Awards Honor Ethical Business Practices
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln along with two members of the Home Builders Association of Lincoln (HBAL) received Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Awards at an award ceremony at the Cornhusker Marriott on September 9th. These awards focus on demonstrated ethical business practices with key stakeholders including customers, employees and the community at large, rather than a company’s growth, profitability or popularity. The Integrity Award winners were chosen by an independent panel of business leaders and members of the academic community.
“The BBB Integrity Award Winners have shown that ethics and integrity are core values of their organization,” said Jim Hegarty, president and chief executive officer, of the Better Business Bureau serving Nebraska, South Dakota and southwest Iowa. “The 2010 BBB Integrity Award Winners join an elite group of organizations that realize dealing fairly and honestly with employees, customers and partners are central to profitability and growth.”
Schaefer’s, Inc. and Nebraska Seamless, Inc., both longtime members of HBAL, were also awarded Integrity Awards at the event.
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln is a very active group of 130 members within HBAL. They hold monthly membership meetings, sponsor educational seminars and other networking opportunities, as well as the Tour of Remodeled Homes. They also provide scholarships to local high school seniors through its annual golf tournament and participate in community projects such as their Food Bank House at the Home and Garden Show in February.

Home Builders make Wooden Toys in 21st Year of Involvement
For the 21st year, the Home Builders Association of Lincoln built wooden toys for needy children. The toys were donated to the Lincoln Police Union’s Santa Cop project through the Center for People in Need. This year’s project was 70 wooden easels with tablet, crayons and books. A children’s project was also painted and decorated by the smaller children to take to local nursing homes.
More than 100 members of the association and their children worked at the event.
