Congratulations to Tru-Built Construction, LLC on being the first Best of the Best winner with their kitchen entry. Next month features basements, so be sure to submit your photo of the best basement remodel you have done or been a part of in the past year to the HBAL office no later than
So you can get a head start on planning for the rest of the year, below is the list of all the "Best of" projects we will be looking for this year. Photos can be submitted to Kayla or dropped off at the HBAL office and we will scan a copy of them. Recognition will include a picture of the project along with your company name in the Step by Step publication and a spot on the HBAL website for one month.

Remodelers Council Receives BBB Integrity Award
The Remodelers Council of Lincoln received the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Award at an award ceremony at the Cornhusker Marriott on September 9, 2010. These awards focus on demonstrated ethical business practices with key stakeholders including customers, employees and community at large, rather than a company’s growth, profitability or popularity. The Integrity Award winners were chosen by an independent panel of business leaders and members of the academic community.

Remodelers Council Scholarships
The Remodelers Council awards scholarships to students who are entering or attending a 2-year or 4-year college program that involves the building industry.Tour of Remodeled Homes
Every spring in April, the Remodelers Council of Lincoln organizes the Tour of Remodeled Homes. This tour consists of 15 to 20 remodeled homes that are opened for public viewing. If you're thinking of remodeling or adding a new room or sunroom to your home, you'll enjoy this weekend event! During the Tour of Remodeled Homes, you can see first hand remodeling projects of many types (kitchens, bathrooms, basements, room additions and more.) This is a great opportunity to talk with remodelers about your own special dreams for your home remodeling project.Click here for more information.
Lead: Renovation, Repair and Painting
Beginning in April 2010, the Toxic Substances Control Act will require contractors to test for lead paint in pre-1978 homes and, if detected, use Lead Safe Work Practices. This will require companies to be EPA registered and have a Certified Renovator available.EPA’s Lead Paint Information
